Infinite Technologies is highly trained and experienced in fitting “off-the-shelf” and custom foot and ankle/foot orthotics for corrective, rehabilitative, and post-recovery conditions. When Infinite Technologies is involved with orthoses, patients receive the most customized treatment. Even our “off-the-shelf” devices are molded and customized for the best fit possible.
We have also been providing orthopedic and diabetic shoes and foot orthotics for our customers for over 14 years.
Foot orthotics are worn inside a patients shoe and are most commonly used for either orthopedic or neuropathic reasons. They are typically worn with tennis shoes and can be custom molded, heat molded, or prefabricated depending on the needs of the patient.
When someone has a biomechanical imbalance, the body compensates by rolling the foot into pronation or supination. This creates abnormal forces on the foot and ankle and can cause many problems. When your foundation is weakened it affects everything above it, therefore issues with your feet can often cause knee, hip and lower back problems. Whether you are a marathon runner or someone who occasionally goes on walks, if you suffer from poor foot alignment you should schedule a free evaluation today.
Individuals with diabetes often suffer from neuropathy and loss of sensation and blood flow to their feet. As a result they are more prone to skin breakdown and ulceration; specially on the plantar aspect of feet. Diabetics often require accommodative inserts for the balancing and prevention of plantar ulcers and wounds that would place them at risk for infectious complications and possible limb loss.
Post-Operative shoes are commonly used for those who have had foot surgery or injury and are now in the healing process. There are many advantages that post-op shoes offer, such as, breathable mesh, a simple one closure strap, semi-rigid outsole to provide medial and lateral stability, and is shock absorbent. Shoe immobilizes the bones joints of the foot reducing forces on the foot. The square toe design acts as a bumper to provide extra protection. Shoe has Velcro closure across front which can accommodate for large bandages or dressing.
Those who have had foot trauma, wounds or present ulcers, post-surgery, or a situation that requires a pressure off-load of the forefoot would benefit from this shoe. Square toe design offers more protection for toes/foot, ankle strap helps eliminate friction and heel slippage, adjustable forefoot closure eliminates buckle pressure, and shoe overall reduces forefoot pressure. This shoe is proven to reduce weight bearing pressure on the forefoot which promotes fasting healing.
UCBLs feature higher trimlines compared to regular foot orthotics. This higher level of support controls flexible rearfoot and forefoot deformities by “grabbing” the heel & holding it in neutral position. In addition, it may also improve foot performance while standing for persons with hypotonicity. It is customized to your foot and fits inside your shoe.
Conditions: subtalar joint instability, calcaneal deformities (rearfoot valgus or varus), transverse plane deformities of the midtarsal joints
It is called a “UCBL” foot orthosis because it was designed at the University of California-Berkeley Lab
